Who is Irena Švenda, M.Sc.?
Mr. sc. Irena Švenda, B. Sc. in Ayurveda, mag. in nutrition, mag. in bioprocess engineering, phytotherapist, yoga therapist
Nutrition, Ayurveda, medicinal herbs, movement and being in nature inspire me in my private and professional life. My goal is to transfer knowledge and awareness of a proper, healthy and beautiful life through nutrition, medicinal herbs (phytoaromatherapy), Ayurveda, yoga, movement through nature and awareness of myself and my needs to those who are ready for it, through working with individuals, educational institutions and companies.
The challenge began after high school when it was time to enroll in college. There were 8 colleges on the list, from pharmacy, biochemistry, nutrition to psychology and pure chemistry, etc. Later, I realized what I was looking for – “all in one”, which I found most in deep Ayurveda, and through various educations that shaped me into the person with the knowledge I possess today. Thank you all, especially my parents, to all the wonderful mentors who helped me pave my way! I enjoy it!
My basic education that I integrate in my work:
- M. Sc. (Master of Science) – postgraduate Master of Science in Nutrition
- B.Sc. of Ayurveda – four-year study in Ayurveda + internship with mentorship from Ayurvedic doctors in clinics in India

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the oldest known system of medicine, over 5000 years old, and today is increasingly being researched, especially in the field of disease prevention and chronic diseases that have already occurred. It represents a holistic approach to medicine that combines knowledge about the therapeutic effects of nutrition, plants, minerals, oils, massage, exercise (yoga) and marma points on the body. In treatment and prevention, it considers the mind and body, and approaches the individual holistically.
In Ayurvedic medicine, over 500 herbs are distinguished in detail in their treatment, and their quality and application are precisely known. Ayurvedic diagnostics are performed using the upashaja method - observing the symptoms of the body and mind, and pulse diagnosis (feeling the pulse at several places on the body).
Ayurveda distinguishes 6 stages of illness in its system, of which the 6th stage is the one where conventional medicine detects illness. This gives it great potential for earlier detection of disorders and treatment in stages before diagnosis in conventional medicine.
