More about the product

The biggest advantage of grinding your own flour is knowing the origin of the ingredients and getting all the benefits of the whole grain. Unless otherwise noted, commercially produced flour is processed to remove the bran, which is where most of the nutrients reside.
By grinding your own flour, you will have all the vital vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants in your food.

Hawos mills operate with an electric motor and grind flour through extremely robust and resistant corundum mineral stones.

You can adjust the fineness of the ground flour from 1 to 9 using the lever on the side of the mill. When changing the level from 9 to 1, the mill must be either turned on or empty.

You can grind whole wheat, rye, oats, spelt, corn, chickpeas, and any other grain or legume flour, as well as almost anything that contains less than 6% fat.
Use only clean, dry grains. You can check this by the sound it makes when you crush the grain with a spoon on a hard surface. Grains that contain too much moisture will look like oatmeal when crushed.

Different types of grains have different compositions (ratio of fat, fiber, etc.), which is why our table was compiled. The values given are approximate and depend on the percentage of moisture in the grain.

GRINDING TABLE :

  • Wheat
  • Rye
  • Pir
  • Barley
  • Oats
  • Millet
  • Corn
  • Durum wheat
  • Brown rice (not paraboiled)
  • Buckwheat
  • Flax (mix with wheat in a ratio of 1:1)
  • Chickpeas
  • Peas
  • Nutritional yeast flakes
  • Quinoa
  • Amaranth (slowly add to the mill)

Note : Grind hard chickpeas, corn, or rice in two stages - first grind them to break the grain into larger particles, and then in a second round to the desired fineness.

Feel free to try grinding ingredients that are not listed in the table, such as dried spices.
Be careful when using new foods.

Seeds will clog the mill due to their high fat content, so always mix them with wheat or another grain in a 1:1 ratio.
